Myskopun ehf. Is currently working at two kinds of resources.

 

Algae Cultivation – During the summer of 2013 about 50 samples were taken from Lake Myvatn and surroundings. Those samples have been cultivated and each species isolated from each other. From those samples 10 – 12 pure strains have been gained.

 

Bacterial Cultiavion - Myskopun is working on a project for the Geothermal Power Plant Krofluvirkjun where samples are taken from the cooling water of the plant. The goal of the sampling is to determine the number of bacteria in the water and identify species that grow in the cooling water.
